Doesn't time fly? It's ages since I last posted, thanks to a holiday and the inevitable post-holiday catch up. A little while ago I was tagged for the first time by Gemma so I'll have a go at responding now.
What was I doing 10 years ago?
Blimey, I have difficulty remembering what I did last week let alone a decade ago. But I did make a big change jobwise in 1998 when, after spending 12 years working out of hours as a social worker and then manager on an emergency team, I moved into a daytime social services management post. Working at night had fitted in with my family and meant I didn't need to use child care (and I loved the work, never knowing what the next call might be about) but once the children were older it was a good time to move to a job that gave me back my evenings and weekends, and which involved more planned work (better for the stress levels!). Also,10 years ago I wasn't spending so much time (or money) trying to erase the signs of ageing from my face and body.
5 non work things on my to do list
Call into a couple of car showrooms to finally decide which new car I'm going to buy. Go food shopping. Buy a new pair of shoes for work. Visit my dad in his care home. Treat myself to coffee and a bit of people watching in Starbucks.
5 snacks I enjoy
Seedless grapes. (Got one stuck up my nose once when I was about 16. Still don't know how). Green olives (with the stones in). Cadbury's Dairy Milk with Crunchie bits (those enormous bars). Fig rolls (from Sainsbury's). Toast (made with my homemade bread) and Marmite.
What would I do if I was a billionaire?
I've only ever planned to win £5m on the lottery (apparently that's how much you need to be able to live the life of the old-style millionaire) so this is quite a bit more. Apart from doing the obvious giving away loads to make life easier and more enjoyable for as many people as possible, I'd want to bring luxury into my life - from the sheets on my bed, the towels in my bathroom, the food in my kitchen, the pictures on my walls, to the car I drive, the clothes I wear, the restaurants I meet up with friends in, the hotels I stay in. When I get on a plane I want to turn left!
Places I've lived
Apart from three years in Warwickshire (Leamington Spa to be precise), I've always lived in the north east of England.
Jobs I've had
Loads but here's a selection: Shop assistant (including working for my dad, Tesco's and on a mobile shop!), Civil servant, Social worker, Project Manager, Probation Officer, Quality manager, teacher.
Passing this on to anyone who hasn't done this yet and who wants to.
