These are some of the 60 cupcakes I made this weekend for one of my friends who was celebrating a landmark birthday. The cakes were vanilla and chocolate (some with luscious chocolate truffle filling), and the buttercream was flavoured with raspberry, pina colada, mint, apricot and chocolate. They were very glittery but I can never manage to capture this in photographs. Anyway, the feedback today from the birthday girl was very positive. She said they were the cat's whiskers.
Speaking of cats, the new kitties are settling in although we haven't let them venture outside yet. I'd forgotten how lively and inquisitive young cats can be. They seem to be able to get where a draught couldn't! Billybob is certainly the brains of the outfit and he's already worked out how to get the top off the cat treats box. We've found him helping himself to the contents on a number of occasions in the last week. Buzz, on the other hand, has been concentrating his efforts on attacking a length of string. And playing the piano. Well, what else can you call sitting on the piano stool with your front paws tickling the ivories?
After such excitement comes the need for a lie down and a tickle on the tum. It's a cat's life alright.
