Christmas present wrapping is one of the jobs on the to do list which always takes much longer than planned and always takes more rolls of paper than estimated. It's also the job I usually leave until the very last minute.
But not this year. I've spent days locked away in a bedroom with a bumper sized roll of sellotape, festive wrap and a huge assortment of bows, ribbons and tags.
There are now reassuring piles of (far from expertly) wrapped gifts, safely stored out of the way of nosey cats and their paper shredding claws and awaiting placement beneath the tree (which we have yet to buy and decorate).
Now I just need to stop buying more presents.
In other news, the final episode of The Killing has been broadcast and watched.
Oh, Sarah Lund, Sarah Lund.
I didn't see that ending coming.
You had me shouting at the telly.
You were going to build an extension, for heaven's sake.
I'm still in shock..............
