A Christmas Eve carol service
Piles of wonderful presents (Anthropologie goodies, jimjams, a coveted handbag, theatre ticket, voucher for a posh afternoon tea, books, DVDs and lots more)
A Christmas morning visit from my almost 97 year old father in law
Three glasses of pre Christmas dinner sherry (and the rest of the bottle on the days after)
Boo in an elf hat
Our traditional main meal of celery and stilton soup, cashew and pinenut roast, Christmas pud and rum sauce
Posh (ish) crackers which refused to be pulled and caused bruising when Someone (not me) was hoiked off her chair in the process of trying
Leftover Christmas pud breakfasts (you were right, it tastes as good as on the day itself)
Buffet suppers
The Snowman and the Snow Dog
Tubs of Twiglets and Pringles and winter spiced nuts
Tangerine trifle
Doctor Who
Bottles of bubbly drunk from new champagne saucers
A trip to the cinema
A night at the panto
Not the noisiest or busiest of Christmases by any means but, for me, one of the best.
