Yesterday was gloriously bright and sunny and so, with nothing planned other than the weekly trip to the supermarket, we stayed local and kept it simple. We're lucky to have a few parks nearby and the nearest (just at the end of our road) is the one Boo gets to play ball in every morning.
The signs of Spring having sprung were easy to spot though also evident were the less attractive results of recent high winds and the council's decision to save money by reducing litter picking services. (Earlier in the week, Boo ran off into the undergrowth to retrieve his tennis ball, only to reappear with what looked like the remains of someone's Sunday roast. He couldn't believe his luck.)
Later, once the groceries had been bought and put away (and it never ceases to amaze me just how much ends up in the shopping trolley for three slender people), it didn't get any more energetic than settling down with the papers, watching an old favourite on the telly, working on a small knitting project for a very small person, browsing a new book (annoyingly cheaper, and with free delivery, if purchased online at Waterstones rather than in store), getting to grips with a new laptop, trying to get to grips with Windows 8 and eventually an uncomplicated dinner courtesy of the freezer.
I love easy Sundays, me.
