I'm quite happy to live here but sometimes even a largish town doesn't offer enough and a trip to the city is called for. On Saturday, the Boy (it was meant to be the mister but he's still out of action) and I took the train (I love train journeys and the opportunity to just sit and read a new book for an hour or so) for a day out in Leeds. First on the agenda was a visit to a vegan (yep, I'm really embracing it) festival, conveniently located in a hotel next to the railway station. It was hot and packed with people but we managed to see most of the stalls, munching on delicious samosas on the way round and stopping to buy chocolates, jars of pickles, toasted coconut marshmallows, Marmite dog treats, ginger beer, cakes and a bag to carry it all. Then we hit the shops (taking the time to look up) for bits and bobs and more treats, squeezing in a late lunch and a large glass of vino before catching the train home. I love spending a day in the city, me.
