With the broken mister having taken root on the sofa, it's been even more samey than usual here. There's been a bit of baking: dairy and egg free lemon drizzle cake and walnut and raisin cookies which received a thumbs up from the vegan as of three months (yours truly) and a resounding 'meh' from the non vegans (the other two here). Seems you can't please everyone but you can always please someone. It goes without saying that there's been an awful lot of Boo walking in and around the local park, sometimes at daft o'clock, sometimes in the company of the 'but I'm not picking up the dog poo' Boy, which has all been mostly uneventful (I've just about erased the embarassing incident with the girl puppy King Charles from my memory). There was an attempt at pressure washing the paving on the patio and the garden furniture which took far longer than anticipated ('your nozzle might be blocked', suggested the ever helpful mister, four hours in) and who knew I could make gravel disappear? There was a bit of taking advantage of the Bank Holiday yesterday and persuading the not at work Boy to lug bags of slate chippings from the garden centre to the car boot and eventually to the garden. I'm working up to telling him he has to do it all again next weekend as we didn't buy enough to (hopefully) solve the kitty litter border problem. A new bird has appeared on the bird bath (get me, using the pressure washer and Araldite in the same week), filling the vacancy created after the original stone version fell off and was fatally injured. In other news, the intensely yellow rapeseed is making the fields round about positively glow, the lambs are flourishing and I was so lucky to spy a lively leveret on a driveway at the end of our road.
